The itinerary
Stop 1
Depart Muscat
Set off in the morning towards Nizwa, enjoying mountain and village scenery along the way.
Stop 2
Nizwa Souq
Explore the date market, vegetable market, Omani halwa shops, silver and gift shops and the spice market, with time to browse local products.
Stop 3
Nizwa Fort
Visit the fort, discover its history and architecture, and enjoy views over Nizwa and the surrounding palm groves.
Stop 4
Birkat Al Mouz
Explore the old village, palm groves and traditional falaj irrigation channel before ascending Jabal Akhdar.
Stop 5
Four Villages Viewpoint
Panoramic views of the villages and agricultural terraces, including rose and pomegranate farms, with time for photographs.
Stop 6
Al Ain Village
The village known for Omani roses and traditional rosewater production. Rosewater distillation may be observed in rose season, subject to availability.
Stop 7
Lunch in Jabal Akhdar
A break for lunch at a local restaurant, with the mountain air and views.
Stop 8
Return to Muscat
Descend from Jabal Akhdar and return to Muscat after a day of culture, history and nature.
